Collaborations are an awesome thing!
Last fall my friend and fellow artist Amy Kollar Anderson asked me if she could paint my Art Deco butterfly dress for an invitational exhibition, to be held at The Schuster Performing Arts Center. This event was created by the Preble County Art Association to coincide with the Bridges performances. I was more than flattered so I accepted.
Amy also helps with the bi annual Dayton Clash Fashion show every year. We thought it would be a good place for her to get photos since we would both be there.
Here is Model Lady Tactic at the Clash Fashion show fitting, she modeled for the painting.
The really cool thing about Amy’s work as she goes over and beyond documenting online step by step how she makes her work with photos, blog posts and time lapsed videos. She really makes you feel like you are a part of her work.
I was not able to go to the art opening and reception, I asked Amy to please get photos for me, my blog and scrap book. Amy then asked if she could borrow the butterfly dress, do a photo shoot and pass out my cards at the art opening. I couldn’t have been more excited. Here are few of the shots taken by her lovely husband Mark Anderson at Eastwood’s, Five Rivers Metro Park.
If you love Seeking Shelter, this painting is for sale and a portion goes to save the monarch butterflies through the Monarch Wings Across Ohio Project. The actual painting will be on display at The Schuster Performing Arts Center until the 23rd of March, 2016. If it does not sell there, she plans to show it at her Yellow Springs Brewery show June 21-July 17.
That’s the brewery my husband is the master brewer at!!
