Class Description/Finished project and what you will learn-
Are you a fan of the artist Frida Kahlo and her amazing style? I am and I have made many of her dresses and now you can make a one of kind dress too.
I designed this simple wrap apron dress to be versatile in all sizes so that I could share how to make this dress with you. We will be learning how to cut a neckline, how to embellish your scarf which is the bodice, gathering stitches, hemlines and adding ties to our very unique designs.
Supplies to bring-
*Thread
*Your Sewing Machine and Sewing Kit with Sharp Scissors/ table top ironing mat and iron if you have one.
*4 yards of ribbon or double fold bias tape for the ties
*5 Yards of trims or laces to embellish
*1 large square scarf for the bodice 29”x 29” slightly larger is fine
*2 -2.5 Yards 52”-60” wide of any soft drape flowing fabric (satan, silk, rayon, challis, poly)
I used all vintage and vintage supplies are great. A tip is to make sure those vintage supplies are color fast before our class. Some vintage scarves and trims the print dyes may run. You can do this by rinsing them in cold water.
Must be comfortable threading and using your sewing machine.
