Tracy’s Sewing Lessons

Hi, I’m Tracy! I’ve been teaching sewing lessons for over 20 years to both children and adults. Teaching the art and science of sewing is my passion.

  • Have you ever looked at something and thought,” I would like to make that?”
  • Do you have a baby or grandbaby on the way that you want to make something very special for?
  • Is there a young aspiring designer in your family?
  • Do you feel the need to make something with your own hands?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, I can get you started with Sewing Basics, Pattern reading and Layout or anyone of my group classes at Rosewood Art Center in Kettering.

Want to take a group sewing workshop or attend Sewing Meet-Up? Check out my events page.

How to Get Started?

If you have never sewn before, a lesson called “The Basics” will help you build skills and save hours of frustration. The basics lesson will get you comfortable sewing and using your machine properly. While you might be overwhelmed trying to learn on your own, my approach makes it easy to understand as I will guide you. I’ll go over threading the needle, loading the bobbin with ease, explaining accessories, stitches, needle sizes, types of thread to use, and machine maintenance. You will learn hands-on with a real person that can answer your questions. Having machine problems? Great. These are opportunities for us to troubleshoot your machine. Stop getting frustrated and wasting time trying to figure it out on your own. We are here to help.

No sewing machine? No problem! Rosewood has machines for you to use during the class.
