Learn the basics of garment alterations for a better fit. This class covers basic tools, common alterations, how to read drag and pill lines, pin-to-fit method, and when DYI vs take it to pro. Must know how to use a sewing machine. Bring your alterations, bring your machine or borrow one of ours.
Age 12+ Supplies students need to bring 2 yards of cotton fabric, matching thread and 1-2 yards of 1” wide elastic (not suitable for plaid matching) This class you learn how to drift your own A line skirt from your measurements, make an elastic casing, finish seams and hem. Students review threading, stitches, tension, bobbins, bobbin winding, machine parts, accessories, and troubleshooting. Students have 2 easy practice projects to learn seam allowance, precision, stitch lengths, and widths.
