Supplies students need to bring 1 1/4 yards of fleece fabric and another 1 1/4 yards for the reverse side, matching thread. Think team sports, bands, and personal, handmade holiday gifts. The class comes with a free pattern and directions to continue to make more at home. Students must be comfortable using a sewing machine. Fleece is forgiving and a great introduction to knits, as well as working with a pattern, brushing up on your basics, and having fun.
Bonus 2025 free fingerless gloves pattern, if we have time we’ll make them.

Tracy McElfresh is an alterations and fit specialist, Kettering Arts Council member, and Kettering resident. Tracy has a skillset built from multigenerational roots in the sewing and garment industries. Operating out of a studio located inside Rosewood Art Centre she provides alterations, garment design (including a strong passion for swimwear), formal and casual dressmaking, and sewing classes. Tracy founded a meetup group in 2014 called the Dayton Garment Designers Meet Up that is open to all newcomers at any skill level. In her free time, she is an avid writer and blogger and was a recognized award winner in 2018 as having one of the Best Dressmaker Blogs on the Planet from Blogspot.
