Tracy’s Insta Dress Class
Make a simple and stylish dress using just one piece of fabric! Join Instructor Tracy Elfresh as she walks you through this fast and easy piece. No pattern required! You will use some simple measurements to learn how to cut a circle, make a neckline, and make easy fool-proof hemlines on a narrow fold circle. The Insta Dress is 30” long and can fit any chest size. Depending on your height, you may feel more comfortable wearing this as a tunic top.

Supplies:

You may bring your own sewing machine or serger to class, or we invite you to use one of ours if you’re curious about sergers! Let us know your preference when you sign up.
Fabric: 1 2/3 yard of knit fabric. Must be 58″ wide, 4 way stretch.
Jersey ball point machine needles if using sewing machine.
Matching all purpose thread
Basic sewing supplies: These are helpful if you have them. Items will be available at the shoppe, for your use during class.

Tracy McElfresh

Owner at Tracy's Sewing Studio

Tracy McElfresh is an alterations and fit specialist, Kettering Arts Council member, and Kettering resident. Tracy has a skillset built from multigenerational roots in the sewing and garment industries. Operating out of a studio located inside Rosewood Art Centre she provides alterations, garment design (including a strong passion for swimwear), formal and casual dressmaking, and sewing classes. Tracy founded a meetup group in 2014 called the Dayton Garment Designers Meet Up that is open to all newcomers at any skill level. In her free time, she is an avid writer and blogger and was a recognized award winner in 2018 as having one of the Best Dressmaker Blogs on the Planet from Blogspot.
